Seafood Salad
A refreshing and vibrant Seafood Salad featuring tender shrimp, calamari, and optional mussels tossed with crisp vegetables and a zesty lemon dressing. Light, healthy, and bursting with Mediterranean flavors, this salad is perfect as a starter or a refreshing main course on warm days.
Ingredients
Seafood
- 200 g cooked shrimp
- 200 g cooked calamari (rings or chopped)
- 150 g cooked mussels or clams (optional)
Vegetables & Add ins
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 avocado, diced (optional)
- 2 tbsp capers (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Dressing
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt & black pepper
- A pinch of chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the seafood
- If using fresh seafood, cook the shrimp until pink and boil calamari for 2–3 minutes.
- Drain and let everything cool completely.
Mix the salad
- In a bowl, combine shrimp, calamari, mussels/clams, onion, cucumber, tomatoes, and parsley.
- Add avocado last to keep it intact.
Make the dressing
- Whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, vinegar, garlic, salt, pepper, and chili flakes.
Combine
- Pour the dressing over the seafood mixture and toss gently.
Chill & serve
- Refrigerate for 20 minutes for best flavor, or serve immediately.
Small Notes :
- Make sure the seafood is fully cooled before mixing to keep the vegetables crisp.
- Avoid overcooking calamari 2–3 minutes is enough to keep it tender.
- Add the avocado at the end to prevent it from mashing.
- Chill the salad for 20 minutes to enhance the flavors.
- Adjust the lemon juice and vinegar to taste for extra brightness.
- This salad is best enjoyed fresh and is not ideal for long storage.
