Ingredients

For the Croquettes

  • 2 cups cooked salmon, flaked
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)

For Frying

  • 3 – 4 tbsp oil (olive oil or vegetable oil)

Instructions

    Prepare the mixture

    In a bowl, combine:

    • flaked salmon
    • onion
    • garlic
    • egg
    • breadcrumbs
    • parsley
    • lemon juice
    • paprika, salt, and pepper
    • mustard (optional)
Mix well until the mixture holds together.
Shape into small patties or oval croquettes.

    Pan-fry

    • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Fry croquettes for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and crisp.
    • Place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

    Serve

    • Serve warm with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, garlic mayo, or a fresh salad.

      Small Notes :

        • You can substitute breadcrumbs with mashed potatoes for a softer croquette.
        • Add a pinch of cayenne or chili flakes for a spicy version.
        • Bake instead of frying: 200°C (400°F) for 15–18 minutes, brushing with a little oil.
        • Works great with leftover cooked salmon.
