Classic Cheeseburger
A juicy beef patty seasoned simply and topped with melted cheddar cheese, stacked with crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, onion, and pickles inside a toasted bun. A classic, satisfying cheeseburger that’s quick to prepare and always a favorite.
Ingredients
For the Patties
- 500 g (1 lb) ground beef (80% lean for juiciness)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- ½ tsp onion powder (optional)
For Assembling
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 burger buns
- 1 tbsp butter or oil
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Pickles
- Onion slices (raw or caramelized)
- Ketchup, mustard, or burger sauce
Instructions
Prepare the patties
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal balls.
- Shape into patties and press a small dent in the center (prevents puffing).
- Season both sides with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
Cook the patties
- Heat butter or oil over medium-high heat.
- Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side.
- Add cheese in the last minute and cover to melt.
Grill :
- Preheat grill to high.
- Cook patties 3–5 minutes per side.
- Melt cheese at the end.
Toast the buns
- Lightly butter and toast the buns in the pan or on the grill until golden.

- Bottom bun
- Sauce
- Lettuce
- Cheeseburger patty
- Tomato
- Onion
- Pickles
- Top bun
Small Notes :
- Use 80% lean beef for the juiciest patties.
- Avoid over-mixing the meat; it makes burgers dense.
- Pressing a small dent helps them cook evenly.
- Let burgers rest for 2 minutes before assembling.
- You can add bacon, caramelized onions, or special sauce for variations.
