Ingredients

For the Patties

  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef (80% lean for juiciness)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp onion powder (optional)

For Assembling

  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles
  • Onion slices (raw or caramelized)
  • Ketchup, mustard, or burger sauce

Instructions

Prepare the patties

  • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal balls.
  • Shape into patties and press a small dent in the center (prevents puffing).
  • Season both sides with salt, pepper, and optional spices.

Cook the patties

  • Heat butter or oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side.
  • Add cheese in the last minute and cover to melt.

Grill :

  • Preheat grill to high.
  • Cook patties 3–5 minutes per side.
  • Melt cheese at the end.

Toast the buns

  • Lightly butter and toast the buns in the pan or on the grill until golden.

Assemble

Recommended order:

  • Bottom bun
  • Sauce
  • Lettuce
  • Cheeseburger patty
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Pickles
  • Top bun

    Small Notes :

      • Use 80% lean beef for the juiciest patties.
      • Avoid over-mixing the meat; it makes burgers dense.
      • Pressing a small dent helps them cook evenly.
      • Let burgers rest for 2 minutes before assembling.
      • You can add bacon, caramelized onions, or special sauce for variations.
